Back to our Nature

Join director Tamara Belland on an exciting journey as we reconnect with nature alongside an unexpected friend, Hugo, a kid from the future——the year 2054.

Hugo receives a mysterious dream one night, urging him to help someone in need. Fueled by determination, he writes a heartfelt letter to his mother before embarking on an adventure with his trusty jet pack. As he zooms through the night sky, he unexpectedly travels back in time to the charming town of Fairfield, Iowa, in the year 2024.

Over Explorer Park near the edge of the town, Hugo’s jetpack runs out of fuel. As he drops through the sky, he falls into a tree not far from where 14-year-old Amelia and her Aunt Penelope are glamping. They are embarking on an extraordinary journey of their own: the inauguration of the Climate Change Adventure Club. Amidst the idyllic woods of Explorer Park, Hugo's arrival is serendipitous, allowing him the opportunity to share the wisdom he holds about how the world overcame the climate crisis, a transformation that unfurled over the course of three decades.

Yet, there's a compelling twist that underpins this heartwarming story – the starting point of these solutions was generated by the young people who stand before us. Hugo, alongside the spirited Amelia, become our intrepid guides, whisking us away on a voyage of self-discovery. Their odyssey not only captivates the imagination but also imparts invaluable lessons on the synergy that can happen when kids work together.

Did you know that being the real, authentic you could actually be a SUPERPOWER? That’s right…

YOU can help change the world!

Just ask Hugo.
